TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO OTHER EXPERIENCE ACCEPTABLE FOR CREDIT, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2402, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to other experience acceptable for credit, designated as Regulation Document Number 2402, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The State Board of Education promulgated amendments to sub-regulation 43-57.3, Other Experience Acceptable for Credit.
(1) The regulation clarifies requirements for those individuals seeking a teaching license in South Carolina.
(2) The promulgated amendment inserts language that has been previously revised in R43-57.1.
(3) The promulgated amendment inserts language denoting acceptable level of accreditation.
(4) The promulgated amendment clarifies credit in a professional education position.
(5) The promulgated amendment inserts language referencing family support program.
(6) The promulgated amendment inserts language clarifying methodology for granting experience credit in trades and industry.
