TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO APPLICATION FOR TEACHING CREDENTIAL, REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2392, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to application for teaching credential, required documentation, designated as Regulation Document Number 2392, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The State Board of Education promulgated amendments to Regulation 43-52, Application for Teaching Credential - Required Documentation. The regulation clarifies requirements for those individuals seeking a teaching certificate in South Carolina. The proposed amendment:
(1) clarifies the application form;
(2) identifies the type of acceptable college transcripts;
(3) clarifies language relating to examination scores and experience verification;
(4) eliminates redundancy;
(5) includes language required for the FBI fingerprint review.
