REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO EFFECTIVE DATE OF CREDENTIAL, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2393, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to effective date of credential, designated as Regulation Document Number 2393, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The State Board of Education promulgated amendments to sub-regulation 43-52.1, Effective Date of Credential. The regulation clarifies requirements for those individuals seeking a teaching certificate in South Carolina. The proposed amendment:

(1) provides clarification for the length of time applications will be considered active;

(2) specifies the date required for submitting credential information;

(3) identifies the amended code of laws.
