REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO PERSONS REQUIRED TO HOLD A TEACHING LICENSE, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2385, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to persons required to hold a teaching license, designated as Regulation Document Number 2385, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The State Board of Education promulgated amendments to Regulation 43-50, Persons Required to Hold a Teaching Certificate. The regulation will clarify the general trades and industry certification requirements in the context of general teaching certification; remand audiology, nursing, and social work licensing to the established licensing boards; and designate school psychology and guidance counseling as certificates.
