A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO AMEND PROVISO 50.9 OF PART IB OF ACT 100 OF 1999, THE GENERAL APPROPRIATION ACT, SO AS TO CLARIFY THE INTENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN DIRECTING THE COMMISSIONERS OF PILOTAGE TO USE A DESIGNATED APPROPRIATION SPECIFICALLY FOR THE SUPPORT OF A MARITIME EXCHANGE SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Proviso 50.9 of Part IB of Act 100 of 1999 is amended to read:

"50.9. (LLR: Commissioners of Pilotage) The one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) appropriated to the Commissioners of Pilotage must be used to comply with mandated rules and other Coast Guard directives for providing a vessel traffic information system (VTIS) as a grant to The Maritime Association of the Port of Charleston for the purpose of supporting the establishment of a maritime exchange system to be used for providing vessel information services."

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
