Indicates Matter Stricken
Indicates New Matter

The Senate assembled at 11:00 A.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned, and was called to order by the ACTING PRESIDENT, Senator SETZLER.

The proceedings were opened with a devotion by the Chaplain as follows:

Beloved, hear St. Paul to young Timothy... in the paraphrase... II Timothy 2:14:

"Remind your people of these great facts, and command them in the

name of the Lord not to argue over unimportant things. Such

arguments are confusing and useless, and even harmful."
Let us pray.

Father, we know that in Your sight there is no differentiation between the sacred and the secular spheres of life.

You are the Lord of all life and of eternity.

We do strive to make Your ways our ways with Your help.

We do confess that the values of our culture do not approach Your values for us.

But help us to try. Please motivate us to honestly make the effort.

Help us to distinguish between the shadowy right as we see it and the glow of truth as You know it to be!

Amen.
