A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MRS. MARY JUDITH MCDOWELL FOR HER CONSTANT AND DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT, CHARLESTON DIVISION, CLERK'S OFFICE AND TO WISH HER WELL UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Mrs. Mary Judith McDowell is retiring from the United States District Court, Charleston Division, Clerk's Office after more than thirty-one years of dedicated service; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell's dedication to work, as a mother of two children and grandmother of thirteen, was tempered by her love and devotion to her family; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell served in numerous organizations culminating in her being elected as the first female president of the South Carolina Irish Historical Society; and

Whereas, her dedication and professionalism served as an example for all who worked alongside her, including five federal judges, two federal magistrates and many visiting federal judges; and

Whereas, all her employees, past and present, wish for her the best life can offer in her new journey and offer their heartfelt appreciation for being a wonderful inspiration; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell may be retiring but her work ethic will have a lasting imprint on all the lives she has touched in her capacity as supervisor in the United States District Court, Charleston County, Clerk's Office. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Mrs. Mary Judith McDowell for her tireless service and wish her all the happiness she richly deserves in her retirement.
