A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND HONOR RUTH DELORIS CARSON OF FLORENCE, SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON HER RETIREMENT AS HOUSING MANAGER OF THE PELICAN HOUSE AND TO WISH HER THE BEST OF LUCK IN HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are pleased to learn of the retirement of Ms. Ruth Deloris Carson and the members wish to express their appreciation for all that Ms. Carson has done for the Pee Dee region and the entire State; and

Whereas, Ms. Carson received her elementary and secondary education in the Florence School District I schools and graduated from Wilson High School in 1957. In 1959, she graduated from the Cushman PBX Business School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

Whereas, Ms. Carson contributes and has contributed much to her family, her church, and the community of Florence. She gives tirelessly of herself when she is needed, asking nothing in return; and

Whereas, Ms. Ruth Carson has been serving since 1991 as House Manager for Pelican House, a complex for the elderly, elderly disabled, and elderly handicapped. She is a National Certified Assisted Housing Manager and also licensed by the State of South Carolina as a Resident Property Manager-In-Charge; and

Whereas, in 1994, Ms. Carson received a Certificate of Special Recognition from the Housing Authority of Florence for 110% Employee nominee, and under her management a Certificate of Achievement was presented to Pelican House as one of the top one thousand High Performing Housing and Urban Development Multifamily Properties in the Nation; and

Whereas, Ms. Ruth Carson has always been involved in her community, church, and family and her future plans are to continue to help make life better for others. In view of her dedicated service to the things she holds dear, the members of the General Assembly find it most befitting to pause in their deliberations to congratulate and commend Ms. Carson on her retirement from the Pelican House. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina commend and honor Ruth Deloris Carson of Florence, South Carolina, upon her retirement as Housing Manager of the Pelican House and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ms. Ruth Carson.
