TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE PHILIP ARNOLD OF UNION FOR HIS SELFLESS INVOLVEMENT IN HIS COMMUNITY, TO RECOGNIZE HIM FOR HIS DEDICATION TO THE MEMBERS OF CUB SCOUT PACK 42, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned of the outstanding community service of Philip Arnold of Union; and
Whereas, such an outstanding record is worthy of recognition; and
Whereas, Philip Arnold has been dedicated to the Cub Scouts program for over twenty-five years and has been a part of the inspiration of approximately twenty young men who have received the top award of Eagle Scout; and
Whereas, in 1999 Philip Arnold led the move to reorganize the Cub Scouts program at Grace United Methodist Church, and he is currently the Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 42; and
Whereas, Pack 42 is comprised of around thirty boys from age six to ten years old. The Weblos, Bears, Wolves, and Tiger Cubs are the four groups within Pack 42; and
Whereas, Philip Arnold's hard work with the Scouting program has been largely without credit or recognition, but his altruism is apparent through his involvement in Scouting; his church, Grace Methodist Church; and his children's school, Monarch Elementary School; and
Whereas, Philip Arnold is also a devoted family man to his wife, Kathy, and his two children, Jacob and Cal; and
Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they might recognize and honor the community service of so distinguished a son of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Philip Arnold for his selfless involvement in his community, recognize him for his dedication to the members of Cub Scout Pack 42, and wish him much success in his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Philip Arnold at 118 Debbie Lane, Union, South Carolina.
