A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO OFFER THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO MR. AND MRS. DANIEL M. HICKS OF GREENWOOD COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ON APRIL 15, 2001, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY ON THIS DAY OF JOY.

Whereas, Dan and Sara Hicks were married on April 15, 1951, in Ninety Six, South Carolina -- a marriage that will reach the half-century mark on April 15, 2001; and

Whereas, the Hicks are devoted to each other and have loyally stood together as a model married couple for fifty years; and

Whereas, they are the proud parents of two sons, Greg and John; and the loving grandparents of four grandchildren, Mandy, Meredith, Haley, and Kathryn; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Hicks are lifelong members of St. Paul United Methodist Church; and

Whereas, this loving couple's contributions to their family, friends, and community have earned them the justifiable affection and respect of all those with whom they have worked or served; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate wish to express their desire that Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hicks celebrate many more wedding anniversaries with their family and friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, offer their congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hicks of Greenwood County upon the occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary and extend best wishes to them and their family on their day of joy.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hicks.
