A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO FIX 1:30 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 2001, AS THE TIME FOR THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE TO MEET IN JOINT SESSION IN THE HALL OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING MEMBERS OF THE BOARDS OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITADEL, COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON, FRANCIS MARION UNIVERSITY, SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY, AND THE WIL LOU GRAY OPPORTUNITY SCHOOL TO SUCCEED THOSE MEMBERS WHOSE TERMS EXPIRE IN 2001, OR WHOSE POSITIONS OTHERWISE MUST BE FILLED; AND TO ESTABLISH A PROCEDURE REGARDING NOMINATIONS AND NOMINATING AND SECONDING SPEECHES FOR THE CANDIDATES FOR THESE OFFICES DURING THE JOINT SESSION.

    Amend Title To Conform

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

    (1)    that the House of Representatives and the Senate meet in joint session in the Hall of the House of Representatives at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, for the purpose of electing members of the boards of trustees of The Citadel, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Francis Marion University, South Carolina State University, and the Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School to succeed those members whose terms expire in 2001, or whose positions otherwise must be filled.

    (2)    that all nominations be made by the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee which screened the candidates for the above offices and that no further nominating nor any seconding speeches be made during the joint session by members of the General Assembly on behalf of any of the candidates.
