A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 56-3-620, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEES FOR CERTAIN PRIVATE PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES, SO AS TO REDUCE THE FEE FOR PERSONS SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WHO REGISTER A PROPERTY-CARRYING VEHICLE WITH A GROSS WEIGHT OF SIX THOUSAND POUNDS OR LESS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 56-3-620(C) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 63 of 1999, is further amended to read:

    "(C)    For persons sixty-five years of age or older, the biennial registration fee for a property-carrying vehicle with a gross weight of six thousand pounds or less is thirty twenty dollars."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
