A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 3, 4, OR 5, 2002, IN ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF ORANGEBURG COUNTY WHEN A SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO SNOW, ICE, OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXEMPTED, IF APPROVED BY THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES, FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    School days missed on January 3, 4, or 5, 2002, in any school district of Orangeburg County when a school was closed due to snow, ice, or inclement weather conditions are exempted, if approved by the local school board of trustees, from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
