A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT JANUARY 3, 2002, MISSED BY THE STUDENTS IN THE HORRY COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM WHEN SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, IF APPROVED BY THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEM, IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    January 3, 2002, missed by the students of the Horry County School System when schools were closed due to inclement weather conditions, if approved by the governing board of the school system, is exempt from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
