TO COMMEND TELEVISION STATIONS WPDE (CHANNEL 15) AND WWMB (CHANNEL 21) AND BILLY HUGGINS, GENERAL MANAGER OF THESE STATIONS, FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO AND ASSISTANCE WITH THE CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM IN THE GRAND STRAND AND PEE DEE AREAS WHICH HAVE HELPED TO MAKE IT SUCH A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM.

Whereas,     WPDE (Channel 15) and WWMB (Channel 21) serving the Grand Strand and Pee Dee areas air "The Grand Strand and Pee Dee's Most Wanted" program every weekend; and

Whereas, to date, the show has profiled more than two thousand fugitives in those areas many of whom have been reported to Crime Stoppers and who have been captured as a result of the show; and

Whereas, it is estimated that an average of four to six captures occur each week, saving thousands of police manhours as well as involving the public in law enforcement issues; and

Whereas, Billy Huggins is the general manager of these stations and has graciously donated the stations' facilities and airtime to the Crime Stoppers project. He has given his uncompromised support to Crime Stoppers and deserves the lion's share of the credit for the program's success; and

Whereas, South Carolina is fortunate to have public-minded individuals such as Billy Huggins and corporate citizens such as WPDE and WWMB who contribute their time and resources to help make their communities a better place to live and work; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and thank WPDE and WWMB and the stations' general manager, Billy Huggins, for their unselfish contributions to and assistance with the Crime Stoppers program. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
