A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT NEW APPLICATIONS MAY BE ACCEPTED UNDER THE STATE EMPLOYEE ADOPTION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD OF TIME UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
New applications accepted
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, due to changes in the application process for the State Employee Adoption Assistance Program between the current and prior fiscal year, new applications may be accepted for employees who adopted a child during the period of March 1, 2002, through June 30, 2002, and who meet all other adoption program criteria pursuant to Paragraph 63.61, Part 1B of Act 289 of 2002. New applications for this period may be filed for a period of ten working days following the effective date of this joint resolution.
Nothing herein shall be construed to disqualify as untimely filed any application filed during the annual application period pursuant to Paragraph 63.61, Part IB of Act 289 of 2002, by employees who adopted a child during the period March 1, 2002, through June 30, 2002.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
