A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE BOY SCOUT MATTHEW MABRY RAMSEY OF AIKEN ON RECEIVING THE PRESTIGIOUS EAGLE SCOUT BADGE, COMMEND HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, AND MANY ACHIEVEMENTS WHILE EARNING THE HIGHEST AWARD IN SCOUTING, AND WISH HIM EVERY SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Boy Scout Matthew Mabry Ramsey began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub in the first grade. He continued in a Cub Scout Troop until the fifth grade when he joined Boy Scout Troop 146 at South Aiken Presbyterian Church. He has progressed through the ranks of the Boy Scouts and has earned the prestigious and coveted Eagle Scout Badge, the highest award in scouting; and

Whereas, as an active member of Boy Scout Troop 146, Scout Ramsey attended troop meetings faithfully, participated in many summer camps at Linwood Hayne, Barstow, Daniel Boone, and Woodruff, and performed or participated in numerous individual or troop service projects in the community, including assisting the Area Churches Together Serving; and

Whereas, Scout Ramsey is a sophomore at South Aiken High School and maintains an Honor Roll average. He is a member of the German Club, the German Honor Society, and he has participated on the Math Counts academic team. Scout Ramsey is a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and participates in the Youth Program. He also has played in the Church League basketball program since elementary school; and

Whereas, Scout Ramsey has demonstrated that he lives by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life. He organized a blood drive at the South Aiken Presbyterian Church with the Shepard Community Blood Center as his Eagle project. The son of Clay and Johnelle Ramsey of Aiken, Scout Matthew Ramsey is a source of pride to his troop, his parents, and to all who know and have had the pleasure of working and serving with him throughout his scouting career. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Matthew Mabry Ramsey of Aiken on receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Badge, commend him for his hard work, perseverance, and many achievements while earning the highest award in scouting, and wish him every success in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Matthew Mabry Ramsey of Aiken.
