A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN EACH HOUSE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ADJOURNS ON THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2003, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY SHALL STAND IN RECESS UNTIL TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2003, WITH EACH HOUSE TO MEET IN STATEWIDE SESSION BEGINNING AT 12:00 NOON ON THAT DAY, AND TO PROVIDE THAT DURING THIS PERIOD, NO MILEAGE OR SUBSISTENCE SHALL BE PAID TO MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY EXCEPT TO THOSE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE AND SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE WHO ARE REQUIRED TO MEET FOR PURPOSES OF DEVELOPING THE 2003-2004 GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That when each house of the General Assembly adjourns on Thursday, March 20, 2003, the General Assembly shall stand in recess until Tuesday, May 6, 2003, with each house to meet in statewide session beginning at 12:00 noon on that day. During this period, no mileage or subsistence shall be paid to members of the General Assembly except to those members of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee who are required to meet for purposes of developing the 2003-2004 general appropriations act.

The General Assembly declares that the provisions of this resolution are in conformity with the provisions of Article III, Section 21 of the Constitution of this State.
