A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING EDDIE TWILLEY, LOBBYIST EXTRAORDINAIRE AND FORMER CONFIRMED BACHELOR, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS UPCOMING MARRIAGE TO BETH FONDREN, FORMER PAGE IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AND WISHING THEM A HAPPY LIFE TOGETHER.

Whereas, Eddie Twilley, a Clemson University graduate and father of two boys, has been a fixture around the South Carolina State House for decades; and

Whereas, the Augusta, Georgia, native began his lobbying career with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce in 1980 and for the past fourteen years has been the State Government Relations Manager for MeadWestvaco; and

Whereas, he has earned the reputation of an honorable lobbyist and since 1989, a confirmed bachelor; and

Whereas, Beth Fondren of Berkeley County and Director of Public Relations at Santee Cooper for seventeen years defied the odds by actually attracting his attention; and

Whereas, the suave but shy Twilley took another three years to muster the nerve to ask the Carolina graduate and former House of Representatives page for a date; and

Whereas, the rest is not history, but the future, as the two plan to wed on March 22, 2003, in Mt. Pleasant. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Eddie Twilley, lobbyist extraordinaire and former confirmed bachelor, on the occasion of his upcoming marriage to Beth Fondren, former page in the South Carolina House of Representatives, and wish them a happy life together.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Eddie Twilley.
