A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL BULLDOGS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING ITS FIRST CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, COMMEND THE PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF FOR THEIR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION, AND WISH THEM EVERY SUCCESS IN THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the Bulldogs had an outstanding season with twenty-three wins and seven losses. In order to get to the championship game, Silver Bluff had to face Andrews High School, the top ranked team in the State, in the semi-finals. Silver Bluff was victorious with the stellar assistance of Brandon Wallace who scored thirty-one points to beat Andrews 58 to 48; and

Whereas, in the championship game, Silver Bluff defeated Calhoun County fifty-nine to fifty-eight with a last second score by Brandon Wallace to win the Class AA State Championship. Brandon Wallace has been named Class AA's Mr. Basketball, was a repeat winner as Region Five Class AA Player of the Year, was named to the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association's All-State team for the second straight season, and has committed to play for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks; and

Whereas, under the leadership of Coach Sam Lilly, Silver Bluff won its first State Title in basketball. Coach Lilly was assisted by Steve Smith, John Metts, Tony Stephens, Dennis Stallings, Kevin Martin, Ashford Bush, and Brittany Sanders; and

Whereas, the Silver Bluff High School Boys Basketball Championship Team is comprised of: Antwan Boyd, Marckel Washington, Jamar Green, Steven Bagley, Tim Wilson, Derric Canty, Brandon Bussey, Bobby Davis, Derrick Green, Gary Johnson, Brandon Wallace, Keion Hazel, Mike Williams, Brandon Larke, and Terrance Crawford; and

Whereas, the Bull Dogs Basketball Team has brought great pride and recognition to Silver Bluff High School and Aiken County, and it is with great pleasure that the members of the General Assembly congratulate them on an outstanding season and for winning the Class AA State Championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the Silver Bluff High School Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team on winning its first Class AA State Championship, commend the players, coaches, and staff for their hard work and dedication, and wish them every success in their future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Silver Bluff High School Boys Basketball Team.
