A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON APRIL 22 AND 23, 2003, BY THE STUDENTS OF HOLLY SPRINGS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PICKENS COUNTY, WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO EMERGENCY FLOOR REPAIR NECESSITATED BY SEVERE WATER DAMAGE, ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

School days missed, exempted

SECTION    1.    The school days missed on April 22 and 23, 2003, by the students of Holly Springs Elementary School in Pickens County, when the school was closed due to emergency floor repair necessitated by severe water damage, are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 28th day of May, 2003.
