A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO MAJOR RAYMOND RICHBURG, OF THE BUREAU OF PROTECTIVE SERVICES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, ON BEING THE 2003 RECIPIENT OF THE BILLIE S. FLEMING, SR., EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD OF THE SANTEE-WATEREE EXPO COMMITTEE.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were pleased to note that Major Raymond Richburg, of the Bureau of Protective Services of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, has been named the 2003 recipient of the Billie S. Fleming Educational Excellence Award of the Santee-Wateree Expo Committee at the Expo's twenty-ninth anniversary meeting held at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Manning, in Clarendon County, on April 27, 2003; and

Whereas, Major Richburg was honored at ceremonies also naming the Expo's William L. Hamilton Humanitarian of the Year Award, the Student Excellence in Education Award, and the Dorothea Ford Service Award; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations so they may express their congratulations to this outstanding law enforcement officer and public servant on this significant honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their congratulations to Major Raymond Richburg, of the Bureau of Protective Services of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, on being the 2003 recipient of the Billie S. Fleming, Sr., Educational Excellence Award of the Santee-Wateree Expo Committee.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Major Raymond Richburg.
