AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1 OF 2001, RELATING TO SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR A PARTICULAR YEAR AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND AUTHORIZATIONS, AMONG OTHER THINGS, SO AS TO REVISE THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND AUTHORIZATIONS FOR USC-SPARTANBURG AND WILLIAMSBURG TECHNICAL COLLEGE MAY BE USED AND TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS AUTHORIZED IN ACTS 646 OF 1978, 179 OF 1981, AND 638 OF 1988, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Purpose revised

SECTION    1.    Part II, Section 1, subsection (A)(3)(j) of Act 1 of 2001 is amended to read:

"(j)    USC - Spartanburg

Health Education Complex/Academic and

Student Services                                                                     5,000,000"

Amounts reduced

SECTION    2.    (A)    The amount of capital improvement bonds added by Act 646 of 1978 and authorized as departmental bonds under the authority and limitation of Act 1087 of 1970 for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (formerly the Department of Mental Retardation) is reduced by $291,422.00.

(B)    The amount of capital improvement bonds added by Act 179 of 1981 and authorized as departmental bonds under the authority and limitations of Act 1087 of 1970 for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (formerly the Department of Mental Retardation) is reduced by $5,151.25.

(C)    The amount of capital improvement bonds added by Act 638 of 1988 and authorized as departmental bonds under the authority and limitations of Act 1087 of 1970 for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (formerly the Department of Mental Retardation) is reduced by $2,061,237.40.

Purpose revised

SECTION    3.    Part II, Section 1, subsection (A)(3)(p) of Act 1 of 2001 is amended to read:

"(p)    Williamsburg Tech -

New Technology Building                                                700,000

Building Repairs                                                                300,000"

Time effective

SECTION    4.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 2nd day of June, 2004.
