A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-760, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HUNTING FROM A PUBLIC ROAD, SO AS TO AMEND THE DEFINITION OF "HUNTING."

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-11-760(B)(1) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(B)(1)    For purposes of this section, `hunting' includes:

(a)    taking deer by occupying stands for that purpose; and standing or stopping on the road while possessing, carrying, or having readily accessible:

(b)    possessing, carrying, or having readily accessible:

(i a)        a loaded centerfire rifle; or

(ii    b)    a shotgun loaded with shot size larger than number four."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
