To whom was referred a Joint Resolution (S. 334) to provide that school day missed on August 9, 2002, by the students of Tamassee Elementary School, Tamassee-Salem Middle School, and Tamassee-Salem High School, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAY MISSED ON AUGUST 9, 2002, BY THE STUDENTS OF TAMASSEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, TAMASSEE-SALEM MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND TAMASSEE-SALEM HIGH SCHOOL OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF OCONEE COUNTY WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO WATERLINE PROBLEMS IS EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The school day missed on August 9, 2002, by the students of Tamassee Elementary School, Tamassee-Salem Middle School, and Tamassee-Salem High School of the School District of Oconee County when the schools were closed due to waterline problems is exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
