A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES FOR WINNING THEIR SECOND STRAIGHT CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the Silver Bluff High School girls softball team defeated a fine Crescent High School 3-2 last week on their home field to claim their second straight Class AA State Championship title; and

Whereas, this state championship was the tenth in the school's twenty-two year history; and

Whereas, Silver Bluff took the best of a three game series 2-0. The Lady Bulldogs had won the first game, 2-1, in Iva on a wild pitch; and

Whereas, under the able leadership of Coach Eric Hofstetter, the Lady Bulldogs fought hard all year and that combined with key hits and plays at crucial times enabled them to become state champions; and

Whereas, since only two seniors were in the starting lineup this year, Silver Bluff should continue to be a powerhouse in Class AA for many years to come; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and commend this outstanding group of young women upon their winning this truly deserved championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the Silver Bluff High School Girls Softball team and their coaches for winning their second straight Class AA State Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Eric Hofstetter and the principal of Silver Bluff High School.
