To whom was referred a Bill (S. 847) to amend Section 46-17-200, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to qualifications of members of the agricultural commodity boards, so as to revise, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 46-17-200, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS OF THE AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY BOARDS, SO AS TO REVISE THESE QUALIFICATIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 46-17-200 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 46-17-200.    The producers of a commodity board shall must be practical producers of the affected commodity and shall must be citizens and residents of this State, over the age of twenty-five years, each of whom is and actually has been actually engaged in producing such the affected commodity within the State for a period of five years one year and during that period has during that period derived a substantial portion of his income therefrom from it. The qualification of members of the board as herein set forth must provided in this section shall continue during their terms of office."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
