TO ALLOW PALMETTOPRIDE TO PRESENT A TROPHY TO THE WINNER OF THE ANNUAL CLEMSON UNIVERSITY-UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA FOOTBALL GAME.
Whereas, the public of South Carolina holds both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina in the highest esteem and are proud of both institutions of higher learning; and
Whereas, the annual football competition between these two outstanding universities captures the public imagination and allows supporters of both bodies to expend their most vigorous expressions of pride toward their favored teams, even to the splitting apart, for a brief period, of families and friends; and
Whereas, PalmettoPride has engaged to foster pre- and post-game clean-ups of the football site and surrounding environs and promotes the underlying pride in the entire State of South Carolina which this annual competition also promotes; and
Whereas, PalmettoPride facilitates recycling and trash clean-up and removal at these football games. Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. PalmettoPride may present a trophy to the winner of the annual Clemson University-University of South Carolina football game which shall be forever called the PalmettoPride Bowl.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
