A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO OFFER THE WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. AND MRS. MARION B. "MUTT" SKIPPER OF COLUMBIA ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR TWENTY-FIFTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND TO THEM EVERY GOOD WISH FOR SUCCESS, HEALTH, AND CONTINUED HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, Marion B. "Mutt" Skipper and Julia Ann McGee Skipper of Columbia were united in holy matrimony on June 7, 1980, at the home of Malcolm and Gwen Skipper; and

Whereas, the son of Jenks and Anna Mae Skipper, Mutt Skipper graduated from Columbia High School in 1964 and joined the United States Air Force. A railroad man by trade, he went to work for Southern Railroad and retired from Norfolk Southern; and

Whereas, a member of the Jamil Temple, Mr. Skipper has always been an active supporter of the Shriners Children's Hospital and has parked cars at the State Fair and University of South Carolina ballgames to raise money for the hospital; and

Whereas, the daughter of Joe and Joe Ann McGee, the former Julia Ann McGee graduated from W. J. Keenan High School in 1974, was a National Honor Society member, and played in a band called "Little Red and the Rocking Hoods" with her mother and brothers; and

Whereas, going to work for McDonald's in 1973, Julia worked her way up to manager, district manager, and then went to work for corporate McDonald's; and

Whereas, not just partners in life, this couple also works together as they are now the owners of three McDonald's restaurants - two in Clinton and one in Laurens; and

Whereas, the Skippers are the parents of Daniel Joseph Skipper, and they are equally proud of their blended family which includes two grown sons: Kevin Brian Skipper and Marion Jason Skipper; and

Whereas, they are also fortunate to boast two grandsons: Brian and Joshua Skipper; and

Whereas, on June 7, 2005, Mutt and Julia Skipper will celebrate the momentous occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. This impressive milestone in their lives will mark twenty-five years of love, devotion, and mutual support and will be celebrated in style at the home of Jim and Sophia Oaks on June 11, 2005. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, offer the warmest congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Marion B. "Mutt" Skipper of Columbia on the occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and extend to them every good wish for success, health, and continued happiness in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Marion B. "Mutt" Skipper of Columbia.
