TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-11-780 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE A STATE EMPLOYEE TO TRANSFER LEAVE TO A SPECIFIC EMPLOYEE OF THE SAME AGENCY TO BE USED BY THAT EMPLOYEE FOR EXTENDED MATERNITY LEAVE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 11 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 8-11-780. Notwithstanding the provisions of this article or any other provision of law, an employee may transfer an amount of the employee's accrued annual or sick leave to a specific employee of the same agency to be utilized by that specific employee for absences that have or will occur due to extended maternity leave. The limit provided in Section 8-11-730(A) on a leave donor applies to sick leave donated pursuant to this section."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
