TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO DENIAL, REVOCATION AND SUSPENSION OF CREDENTIALS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2984, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Denial, Revocation and Suspension of Credentials, designated as Regulation Document Number 2984, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Amendments to R 43-58 are necessary to consolidate in one regulation all of the possible grounds upon which the State Board of Education may take action on the educator's certificate, pursuant to a number of various South Carolina code sections, and to clarify what actions on an educator certificate the Board may take. Additionally, the amendments change the title of the regulation to more accurately reflect the subject and content of the regulation.
