TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO ADDITIONAL AREAS OF CERTIFICATION, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2999, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Additional Areas of Certification, designated as Regulation Document Number 2999, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The State Department of Education recommends that the State Board of Education promulgate amendments to 24 S.C. Code Ann. Regs. 43-62 (Supp. 2004). The amendments are for the purpose of updating course requirements for additional certification in Family and Consumer Science and eliminating Speech and Drama as a certification option.
