VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE CALHOUN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SAINTS VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2006 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACH, ZAM FREDRICK, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.
Whereas, excellence in basketball demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coach Zam Fredrick and the members of the Calhoun County High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team capped an outstanding 28-1 season by winning the 2006 Class A State Championship; and
Whereas, defeating Hemingway High School with a score of 80-65 to take the state title, the Calhoun County Saints stayed calm and focused throughout an intense game; and
Whereas, the Saints are no stranger to victory, as this season's state championship marks the fifth of its kind for the school, and the region championship was the school's sixteenth consecutive region title; and
Whereas, throughout the season the team demonstrated exceptional talent and great confidence, under the skilled coaching of Zam Fredrick, whose time and energy were well spent encouraging his team to play to the best of their individual and collective abilities, leading the team to yet another outstanding season; and
Whereas, Coach Fredrick has consistently led the Saints to victory with an extraordinary seventeen season record at Calhoun County High School of 433-55; and
Whereas, the team is comprised of Christopher Haygood, Kantrell Brown, Aaron Guinyard, David Glover, Henry Johnson, David Randolph, Alshon Jeffery, Christopher Kimpson, Deandrea Guinyard, Rolandrus McDaniel, De-John Haynes, Tavarus Murphy, Demario Williams, Jeramen Bonnette, and Edwin Riley; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in commending the young men of Calhoun County High School for their tireless efforts and great determination in an outstanding season and recognize them for this wonderful accomplishment. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Calhoun County High School Saints Varsity Boys Basketball Team on its impressive win of the 2006 Class A State Championship and honor the players and their coach, Zam Fredrick, on an exceptional season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the players, coaches, and school officials of the Calhoun County High School Saints Varsity Boys Basketball Team.
