A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SINCERE GRATITUDE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS WHO GENEROUSLY OFFERED UP THE FINEST AND TASTIEST SOUTHERN CUISINE ON THE GROUNDS OF THE STATE HOUSE AT THE HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S TASTE OF SOUTH CAROLINA LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2006.

Whereas, the Hospitality Association of South Carolina joined ranks with fifteen of the state's most popular restaurants to produce the Taste of South Carolina Legislative Luncheon on Wednesday, April 19, 2006; and

Whereas, the participating restaurants gathered under festive tents on the lovely State House grounds to offer their scrumptious specialties to legislators and their staffs; and

Whereas, all the best cuisine that South Carolina creates from its local bounty -- fresh and saltwater fish; lamb, chicken, and beef; shellfish; fresh fruits and vegetables; confections of eggs and milk and cheese -- was lusciously prepared, beautifully presented, and universally enjoyed; and

Whereas, the following restaurants took part in the huge culinary success:

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar Restaurants

(Apple-J LP franchise partner)

A.W. Shucks Seafood Restaurant & Raw Bar, Charleston

Bonefish Grill Restaurants

Carraba's Italian Grill

Coca-Cola NA

Columbo's Italian Eatery & Prime Steaks Restaurant, Columbia

Damon's Grill Restaurants

Garden Bistro, Columbia

Liberty Tap Room & Grill Restaurants

Lizard's Thicket Restaurants, Columbia

Outback Steakhouses

Restaurant O, Greenville

Tronco's Special Events Catering, Columbia

Whereas, the General Assembly pauses in the midst of its deliberations to acknowledge the generous acts of these businesses and their vital importance to the economy of this State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their sincere gratitude to the participating restaurants who generously offered up the finest and tastiest Southern cuisine on the grounds of the State House at the Hospitality Association of South Carolina's Taste of South Carolina Legislative Luncheon, Wednesday, April 19, 2006.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Hospitality Association of South Carolina.
