A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MAJOR ROBERT BENI STREET II, OF IRMO WHO WAS AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE DURING HIS SERVICE IN IRAQ.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to learn that Major Robert Beni Street II, of Irmo, was awarded the Bronze Star on May 5, 2006; and

Whereas, having distinguished himself as an officer, Major Street was presented with the Bronze Star for his exceptional service in Iraq; and

Whereas, Major Street demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his country and his fellow soldiers, as well as to the people of Iraq, through his meritorious service and leadership throughout his tour of duty in Iraq; and

Whereas, Major Street has not only distinguished himself in combat, but has also excelled as a member of the Military Integrated Transitional Training team, and through his work and efforts on elections in Iraq, he has proudly contributed to bringing democracy to the Iraqi people; and

Whereas, his performance in Iraq is in the highest traditions of the United States Army and is a testament to his leadership, capabilities, and professionalism; and

Whereas, it is with great pride and gratitude that the members of the South Carolina General Assembly pause in their deliberations to recognize such an outstanding officer and courageous South Carolinian. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Major Robert Beni Street II, of Irmo, who was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptionally meritorious service during his service in Iraq.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Major Robert Beni Street II.
