A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND CHIEF TIM JAMES OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF LEXINGTON COUNTY AND SOUTH CAROLINA AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THIS SPECIAL OCCASION OF HIS BEING SELECTED FOR THE LEXINGTON SHERIFF'S FOUNDATION AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the Senate are keenly aware of the extraordinary contribution that law enforcement officers such as Chief Tim James make to their communities in protecting the lives and property of their fellow citizens, sometimes at the risk of their own life, health, and safety; and

Whereas, Chief James is being awarded the Lexington Sheriff's Foundation Award for the year 2005; and

Whereas, known for his outstanding dedication to law enforcement and for maintaining the very highest ethical standards, Chief James has gone above and beyond the call of duty for the residents of Lexington County; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper that the members of the Senate recognize Chief James for the honor of being awarded the Lexington Sheriff's Foundation Award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That, by this resolution, the members of the Senate commend Chief Tim James of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department for his dedicated service to the people of Lexington County and South Carolina as a law enforcement officer, and to congratulate him on this special occasion of his being selected for the Lexington Sheriff's Foundation Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chief Tim James of Lexington.
