The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from Proverbs 11:2: "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom."
Let us pray. Eternal God, source of all being, thank You for these days of service and responsibility in doing the work of the people. Keep us humble but give us wisdom, courage and integrity to be what You have chosen us to be. Look favorably upon our Nation, President, State and her leaders. Protect our defenders of freedom from all harm. In Your Holy name. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
