A SENATE RESOLUTION

HONORING BISHOP WALLACE SNOW, SR. FOR HIS MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, THANKING HIM FOR HIS YEARS OF TIRELESS DEDICATION AND SELFLESS GIVING TO THE COMMUNITY, AND WISHING HIM WELL IN THE FUTURE

Whereas, Bishop Wallace Snow, Sr. was born January 8, 1915, and raised in Williamsburg County, the oldest of ten children, to the late Bellamy and Annie Pringle Snow; and

Whereas, on September 27, 1935, he married the late Isabella Wilson Snow, with whom he had ten children, twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and

Whereas, despite living on a fixed income, he and his second wife, Pansy Cooper Snow, raised several of his grandchildren, including a set of twins, and Mrs. Snow's handicapped nephew; and

Whereas, he was called into the ministry and became ordained in 1958, having served and continues to serve as a non-salaried minister; and

Whereas, he built his first church himself, the Bethlehem Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, in Lake View, South Carolina, and then expanded his congregation by building six additional churches in South Carolina and several more in Virginia; and

Whereas, his dedication and faith have been tested on many occasions, some leaving physical reminders, but he continues to put his trust in God and prayer; and

Whereas, despite becoming totally blind, Bishop Snow continues spreading the Word of God, visiting jails, hospitals, nursing homes, his churches in Virginia and South Carolina, holding bible study in his home, and attending church nightly; and

Whereas, he continues to serve the community in a variety of ways including: teacher, mentor, confidante, and counselor. Bishop Snow has served as an ordained minister for forty-seven years and still enjoys spreading the same message he did when he first began. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor Bishop Wallace Snow, Sr. for his many accomplishments, thank him for his years of tireless dedication and selfless giving to the community, and wish him well in the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bishop Wallace Snow, Sr.
