TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION, RELATING TO PRIVATE SECURITY AND PRIVATE INVESTIGATION BUSINESSES, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 3064, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, relating to Private Security and Private Investigation Businesses, designated as Regulation Document Number 3064, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is requesting the deletion of current regulations regarding private security and private investigation businesses and replacement with the proposed regulations to conform the regulatory language to statutory law (Chapter 18, Title 40, South Carolina Code). The proposed regulations will correct language, provide clarification, and create requirements as noted in the text.
