AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 780 OF 1928, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE ABBEVILLE COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, SO AS TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE HOSPITAL TO THE "ABBEVILLE AREA MEDICAL CENTER" AND TO REVISE THE MANNER OF SELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE HOSPITAL'S BOARD OF TRUSTEES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 780 of 1928, as last amended by Act 435 of 1963, is further amended to read:

"Section 1. The Abbeville County Memorial Hospital hereafter shall be known as the Abbeville Area Medical Center. The Board of Trustees of the Abbeville Area Medical Center shall be composed of seven members. One member shall be a licensed physician appointed by the medical staff of Abbeville Area Medical Center; one shall be appointed by the Abbeville County Council; one shall be appointed by the governing body of the City of Abbeville; one shall be appointed by the governing body of the Town of Donalds; one shall be appointed by the governing body of the Town of Due West; one shall be appointed by the governing body of the Town of Lowndesville; and one shall be appointed by the Town of Calhoun Falls. All members shall serve for terms of four years each and members shall serve until their respective successors have been duly appointed and qualify. Upon the effective date of this paragraph, except for the current physician member appointed by the medical staff of the medical center, the terms of the current members of the board shall expire and their successors appointed in the manner provided in this section."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
