A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-96-85 SO AS TO PROHIBIT SOLID WASTE GENERATED OUTSIDE OF THIS STATE FROM BEING DISPOSED OF IN THIS STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 1, Chapter 96, Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-96-85.    (A)    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, solid waste generated outside of this State must not be disposed of in this State, whether by landfill, incineration, or otherwise."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
