A HOUSE RESOLUTION

DIRECTED TO THE PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES EXPRESSING THE DISCONTENTS OF SOUTH CAROLINIANS AND DEMANDING ACTION TO ADDRESS THOSE DISCONTENTS.

Whereas, South Carolinians are hardworking and patriotic people devoted to their faith, their families, their State, and the United States; and

Whereas, South Carolinians everyday witness the bitter fruits of the dereliction of the government of the United States to protect the people of this State and our sister states as evidenced by an unwillingness to secure the borders of the United States against tides of illegal immigrants among whom may be hiding terrorists determined to do unspeakable harm to our country; and

Whereas, trade agreements negotiated by the executive branch and agreed to by Congress have damaged the manufacturing economy of this State and the United States, resulting in devastation to the economic prospects for working people in this State both now and in the future; and

Whereas, those in authority in the federal government, with notable exceptions, appear to fixate on agendas irrelevant and indeed inimical to the real needs of our people. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives express to the President and Congress of the United States the discontents of South Carolinians and demand action to address those discontents.

Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, President of the United States Senate, and each member of this State's congressional delegation.
