Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Commission on Higher Education, relating to Free Tuition for Residents Sixty Years of Age, designated as Regulation Document Number 3143, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The General Assembly passed the "Free Tuition for Residents Sixty Years of Age" (Section 59-111-310) that authorized public colleges or universities to permit legal residents of South Carolina who have attained the age of sixty to attend classes for credit or noncredit on a space available basis without the required payment of tuition.
