VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE SALLIE GALLISHAW KENNEDY, OF ORANGEBURG COUNTY, FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO HER FAITH, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEARS.
Whereas, Sallie Gallishaw Kennedy was born the fourth child to her proud parents, Jessie and Rosa Jones Gallishaw; and
Whereas, Mrs. Kennedy was joined in holy matrimony to Matthew Kennedy, and together they were blessed by four devoted children, Matthew Labron, Angela, Paul, and Ulrica Layta, and eight adoring grandchildren; and
Whereas, steadfast in her faith, Mrs. Kennedy is a dedicated member of Pineville United Methodist Church; and
Whereas, she serves as a staple of her church community, and has served as the Assistant Secretary of the United Methodist Women, on the Orangeburg District Senior/Gospel Choir, and as Secretary of the Trustee Board; and
Whereas, an avid volunteer, Mrs. Kennedy selflessly gives of her time and energy to the Emergency Food Assistance Program and to the summer free lunch program for the children of Orangeburg; and
Whereas, she is an active member of the Orangeburg Calhoun Retirement Education Association, Venus Court Number 51, Lady Knights, Spencer Court Number 78, CBAA, the NAACP, and numerous other organizations; and
Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the South Carolina Senate pause in their deliberations to recognize Mrs. Sallie Gallishaw Kennedy for her immeasurable contributions to her community and to the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize Sallie Gallishaw Kennedy, of Orangeburg County, for her outstanding contributions to her faith, family, and community, and wish her all the best in the coming years.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Sallie Gallishaw Kennedy.
