The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Isaiah 42:6: "I have given you as a covenant to the people, and a light to the nations."
Let us pray. Gracious Lord, giver of light, help us sense Your presence in our own dark times and give us compassion in our relationships with each other. Give us a restful weekend so we may return to our duties refreshed for service. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who labor in government. Protect our defenders of freedom both here and abroad as they protect us. In the name of our Lord. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
