A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 25-1-380, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO AN ASSISTANT ADJUTANT GENERAL FOR THE ARMY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF ASSISTANT ADJUTANT GENERALS TO TWO.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 25-1-380 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 25-1-380.    There shall must be an two Assistant Adjutant General Generals for Army, with the rank of brigadier general, who shall must be an assistant assistants to the Adjutant General and who shall must be appointed and commissioned by the Governor upon the recommendation of the Adjutant General at such a salary as may be provided by the annual appropriations act. Such individual shall These individuals must be appointed from the active or retired list of the Army National Guard and shall have a minimum of five years' active commissioned service in the South Carolina Army National Guard."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
