TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MR. AND MRS. GRADY NEWMAN ON THE HAPPY OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, AND TO WISH THEM ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEARS.
Whereas, Grady Newman and Myrtis Eubanks were joined in holy matrimony at the Mount Pisgah Parsonage on December 26, 1956; and
Whereas, rooted in their community and its people, Mr. and Mrs. Newman have lived in Bethune for their entire married lives, save the time Mr. Newman spent in the United States Navy; and
Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Newman's marriage has been blessed by three adoring children, Theresa, Glenn, and Donna; and
Whereas, retired from the Kershaw County School District, Mr. and Mrs. Newman are the proud grandparents of five and great-grandparents to one, devoting much of their time to spoiling the children who adore them; and
Whereas, steadfast in their faith, the Newmans remain dedicated to their church and to its surrounding community; and
Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Newman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a lovely gathering with family and friends on January 27, 2007; and
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the General Assembly pause to honor this extraordinary couple on their momentous fiftieth wedding anniversary, and wish them good health and great happiness in the coming years together. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mr. and Mrs. Grady Newman on the happy occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, and wish them all the best in the coming years.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Grady Newman.
