A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MRS. LAYNE PUTNAM OF ANDERSON COUNTY, TO CONGRATULATE HER UPON THE OCCASION OF BEING NAMED THE 2010 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO COMMEND HER FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that Mrs. Layne Putnam, assistant principal of New Prospect Elementary School, has been named the 2010 Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators; and

Whereas, an exceptional ambassador for education in our State, Layne Putnam has the unique ability to motivate others to unite around the common vision to foster the school's mission of academic excellence, and she uses her talents in interpersonal relationships to enable students and faculty to succeed; and

Whereas, well aware of how deserving Mrs. Putnam is of this distinguished award, the students of New Prospect Elementary School and their parents, as well as her colleagues, friends, and family members, appreciate her commitment and service in the field of education, both of which have had incalculable benefits to students in South Carolina; and

Whereas, it is altogether fitting that the members of the South Carolina General Assembly should pause in their deliberations to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Layne Putnam for her dedicated service and the standard of excellence which she has brought to education in our beloved State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mrs. Layne Putnam of Anderson County, congratulate her upon the occasion of being named the 2010 Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of South Carolina, and commend her for her outstanding contributions to education in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Layne Putnam.
