VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND CHAPTER 69, TITLE 59, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-69-280 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A SCHOOL DISTRICT MAY NOT USE SCHOOL OPERATING FUNDS TO DEFRAY THE COSTS OF PROFESSIONAL FEES AND MEMBERSHIPS ON BEHALF OF ITS TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 69, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-69-280. A school district may not use funds appropriated for school operating purposes to defray the costs of professional fees and memberships on behalf of its teachers and administrators."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
