A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE LIFEPOINT, INC., FOR ITS MANY YEARS OF ASSISTING DONORS IN GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE THROUGH ORGAN, TISSUE, AND EYE RECOVERY, TO COMMEND NANCY A. KAY, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE ORGANIZATION, FOR HER QUARTER CENTURY OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO LIFEPOINT AND ITS CLIENTS, AND TO CONGRATULATE LIFEPOINT ON THE OCCASION OF ITS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY.

Whereas, in 1984, Nancy A. Kay was instrumental in starting LifePoint, Inc., formerly the South Carolina Organ Procurement Agency, as the federally certified, independent organ procurement organization for South Carolina; and

Whereas, since that time, she has served as the organization's president and chief executive officer; and

Whereas, in 2003, Ms. Kay was influential in negotiating the merger of LifePoint with the South Carolina Lions Eye Bank, and under her aegis the tissue division of LifePoint was established in 2005. She was instrumental in the establishment of the South Carolina Organ and Tissue Donor Registry in 2008 and was a strong supporter of the revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act legislation during 2009; and

Whereas, today LifePoint is the only organ, tissue, and eye recovery organization in South Carolina. As a leader in national organ and tissue procurement organizations, LifePoint seeks to give life and hope to organ recipients, as well as encouragement to donor families as they mourn the loss of their loved ones; and

Whereas, it is fitting that the members of the South Carolina General Assembly salute LifePoint, Inc., for the life-saving benefits it has brought to so many, commend Nancy A. Kay for her visionary leadership of the organization, and, at the celebration of their joint twenty-fifth anniversary, extend best wishes to Ms. Kay and LifePoint for continued success in all their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize LifePoint, Inc., for its many years of assisting donors in giving the gift of life through organ, tissue, and eye recovery, commend Nancy A. Kay, president and chief executive officer of the organization, for her quarter century of dedicated service to LifePoint and its clients, and congratulate LifePoint on the occasion of its twenty-fifth anniversary.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to LifePoint, Inc.
